Classic And Traditional Wedding

I adore classic and traditional weddings. I love the timeless details and elegance of the bride and groom and the effortless connection between these two is heartwarming. Joe and Laura only had five months to plan their wedding and sharing the planning was key.The Westchester Wedding Planner_6008From the Bride: Joe and I met while in medical school in Northern California. We only dated for two months before I moved to New York City for my residency training. Joe still had one more year of medical school left so I didn’t think our relationship would last after my cross-country move. However, Joe was sure that our love was worth fighting for, so he came to visit me multiple times that year and eventually also moved to New York for his residency. During those years of arduous medical training, despite working 80 hours a week with no overlapping weekends or vacations, we managed to make our relationship stronger. We supported, listened, and took care of each other. Most of all, we made each other laugh. Next thing we knew we were talking marriage. He proposed on my 29th birthday, after taking me out to a steakhouse in Manhattan, with his great-grandmother’s heirloom ring. We knew we didn’t want to complicate the wedding planning process with a long engagement, so we were married five months later (and I promise I was not pregnant). Ladies, it is not that hard! I had my share of family arguments, but being engaged only five months kept the excitement and the momentum going, and helped us focus on the things that were most important to us for the wedding.

My best piece of advice for women planning their weddings is to let boys be boys. Have your fiancee pick the things he most cares about for the wedding (for Joe it was the food) and have fun planning those things together. For the rest of it, such as the flowers, invitations, even registry, don’t set high expectations for your fiancee, or you may get disappointed. It’s more fun to do those things with your sisters, mother, cousins, and friends, anyway!

My husband and I had the time of our lives at our wedding. We have such treasured memories from that day, and are so thankful for our families, friends, and all the vendors that helped make it so special. The Westchester Wedding Planner_5993 The Westchester Wedding Planner_5995 The Westchester Wedding Planner_5996 The Westchester Wedding Planner_5997The Westchester Wedding Planner_6001 The Westchester Wedding Planner_6002 The Westchester Wedding Planner_6003 The Westchester Wedding Planner_6004 The Westchester Wedding Planner_6007 The Westchester Wedding Planner_6009The Westchester Wedding Planner_6010The Westchester Wedding Planner_6014The Westchester Wedding Planner_6015The Westchester Wedding Planner_6017The Westchester Wedding Planner_6019The Westchester Wedding Planner_6025The Westchester Wedding Planner_6023The Westchester Wedding Planner_6029The Westchester Wedding Planner_6030Photographer: Julie Nicole Photography | Shoes: Betsey Johnson | Dress Designer: Alfred Sung | Tuxedo and Mens Attire: Calvin Klein | Floral Designer: Daisy’s Wedding and Floral | Hair Stylist: Kristen Patterson Wedding & Special Event Stylist | Tuxedo and Mens Attire: Macy’s | Cake Designer: Maria Mata Cakes | Tuxedo and Mens Attire: Men’s Wearhouse | Dress Store: Bliss | Reception Venue:| DJ: Joel Nelson Productions
