Eolia Mansion Engagement Session

Every single engagement session is special in its own right, and when it comes to picking a great location it’s worth thinking outside the box.  Let’s consider a historic mansion such as Eolia Mansion at Harkness. Well, this e-session at Eolia Mansion captured by Candace Jeffrey Photography is the perfect example of an amazing location that sets a special tone for a beautiful day.
The Westchester Wedding Planner_1700From the bride-to-be: How did the two of you meet? Mike and I met on Match.com; we had our first date two weeks after I had ACL surgery. I walked in with a full, as we called it, “Gladiator” leg brace!

How did he propose? On Saturday, April 12th Mike seemed to be up to something. I went in to brush my teeth and came out to have my coffee, and he had quickly made the bed and had placed an envelope on the pillow. It was so cute; Inside was a folded piece of paper that said “Where are we going?????????????????????” and a list of items that I needed to pack. After breakfast, we got on the highway heading east. I wasn’t sure where we were going, but Mike kept asking if I had any idea, which I didn’t. First it was we are we going to Providence. He pretended to get off the highway but swerved and got back over “Nope”. We kept driving, to the Worcester exit, Mike goes “we’ve never been to Worcester til now….pulling over to the exit and then pulled back straight away lol. Then I was sure we were going to Boston, but when Mike pulled off the highway in Lowell, Mass. I had no idea, lol. There were strip malls and I won’t lie I was getting nervous. Where are we going lol? We finally pulled up to a beautiful Inn tucked away from the road. The Stonehedge Inn, we walked in, and Mike directed me to go sit down. Since our room wasn’t ready, we decided to find a winery. We ended up heading toward St. Anselm’s, Mike’s college for his freshmen/sophomore year. On the way back we stopped at the Fulchino winery and enjoyed tasting all their wines. We even took a bottle back with us. When we got back to the hotel our room was ready, the room was beautiful. Mike insisted we go swimming at the indoor pool, so I went to the bathroom to change. When I came out, Mike was holding a rose and said here’s to a great weekend. We headed to the pool; Mike pulled out of his bag wine glasses and a bottle opener, this man was prepared! I guess I’ve taught him well lol. After a swim in the pool and a glass of wine, we went back to the room and got ready for dinner. Mike wanted to go for a walk to see the horses before dinner, so we ended up walking over to a little alcove which was a rock wall overlooking the gorgeous grounds. I went to lean on the wall, and suddenly Mike reached for my hand and got down on one knee. We both started crying; it was absolutely perfect. I felt like a princess.

What can you tell us about your upcoming wedding? Our wedding is going to be a bit of a “step back in time” with the classic black and silver decor. The men will wear black tie all so fitting of The Society Room. What we can’t wait for people is to see are the flowers. I think the scene has been set for the perfect candlelit evening. The Westchester Wedding Planner_1701 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1702 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1703 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1704The Westchester Wedding Planner_1705 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1706 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1707 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1708 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1709The Westchester Wedding Planner_1710 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1711 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1712 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1713 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1714The Westchester Wedding Planner_1715 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1716 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1717 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1718 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1719The Westchester Wedding Planner_1720 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1721 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1722 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1723 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1724 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1725 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1726 The Westchester Wedding Planner_1727
