Fifty Shades of Love by Amy Millard Design + Photography
Loosely inspired by the mega-successful movie, Fifty Shades of Grey, Amy Millard and San Diego Events Company takes the basic idea and runs away with it in a beautiful and graceful way. With the Supreme Court ruling that same-sex marriage is now legal in the United States, they do a great job of expressing that love is just that, LOVE.
Fifty Shades of Love was a stylized same-sex wedding that took place at the San Diego Hotel Palomar located in the Gaslamp. Loosely themed from the recent movie Fifty Shades of Grey, these two brides convey an unconventional love with a mix of beauty and grace. The film embodied a sense of sultry, sexual freedom with an underlying theme of purity and love. We utilized a variety of grays in the shoot to emphasize how the depths of love can change over time.
Starting with one’s deepest darkest desires, ultimately evolving into the white pureness of love, regardless of sexual preference. The white orchids symbolize luxury, beauty and strength, all of which are showcased in this one of a kind styled photo shoot. Bringing in the shades of red symbolizing the boldness of self-expression, commitment, and love. The design suite was influenced by the typography and minimal design used with the Fifty Shades of Grey Movie title and overall set design. Our goal was to show two individuals conveying a unique love with a twist of modern and luxury.
