Melissa shares her top five hair care tips for ensuring you have beautiful hair on your wedding day.tip: 1 – Touch up colored hair 2 weeks before the wedding. Roots will be concealed, and there will be time left to correct any coloring mishaps.

tip: 2 – For longer hair, get a trim 3-4 weeks before the wedding. Shorter styles will look fresher if trimmed two weeks before the date. A fresh cut eliminates split ends and gives your hair a smooth, healthy look. Plus, freshly trimmed hair keeps a curl longer.

tip: 3 – Use a deep conditioner a few weeks before your wedding. Moist hair is shiny, beautiful, photogenic hair.

tip: 4 – Seek inspiration and communicate your vision! Clip photos from magazines of styles you like and bring them to your trial appointment. Choose images with models that have hair that is a similar length, texture and color to yours. Narrow your selection down to 5 images. And don’t forget to tell your stylist what kind of head dress, hat or veil you plan to wear, bringing it to your appointment if possible.

tip: 5 – Choose a style that’s both flattering and comfortable. You want to look your most beautiful on your special day, but you also want to look like yourself. Stick with looks that feel good and are going to wear well from the ceremony through the reception.
