Greenwich Nautical Wedding by Sarah Tew Photography
We have fallen in love with this casual yet elegant, traditional but not stuffy wedding at Belle Haven Club sweetly photographed by the lovely Sarah Tew. When it comes to style I have to say that New Englanders know how to do it right. With a beautiful blue, white and orange palette, the bride took the nautical theme and really did something very special. Go on, take a look!
This is what Sarah shared with us: Every once in a while a wedding comes along and blows me away– Devin put so much love and care into the decor pulling together a stylish and beautiful event. I would have assumed it was the work of an incredible high-end designer, no doubt!
From the Bride, Devin: I knew from the moment we started planning the wedding that I wanted a subtle nautical theme but also wanted to integrate bold/fun patterns while maintaining a level of formality.
I wasn’t able to find many linen rentals that fit what I was dreaming of for our tablescapes, but a year of internet hunting yielded some fantastic (and relatively reasonable) tabletop items in bulk that really helped me create the colorful and vibrant look I was hoping for. We did not use a professional planner, and I did many DIY projects to personalize the details. Mike and I are thrilled with the formal but not fussy style of the night. My favorite part of the wedding was right after the cake cutting; Mike surprised me with the sweetest speech in the entire world that left the room in tears. We left the wedding on the club’s launch boat while our guests looked on and had a romantic ride back to the Delamar complete with champagne and snacks.
