Meaghan & Brian

This engagement session was a dream! Despite the rain showers, it was the perfect afternoon to celebrate love and light. Skaneateles is a special place for Meaghan and Brian – Brian’s family owns a waterfront getaway on Skaneateles lake, and he spent long summer days there growing up. Their relationship has grown in and around the village, and we visited many of these landmarks for their engagement shoot! Meaghan and Brian had their first date at the quaint, small-town Skaneateles Bakery. A few months later, Brian proposed on the water, while fireworks flared overhead! The proposal was followed by Brian’s family meeting the couple to celebrate as they returned to the docks, and then a romantic dinner at The Krebs, a 100+-year-old restaurant on the waterfront. We revisited all of these local favorites, and ended the session at a private lakeside estate overlooking the village and the water!

From Meaghan:

“From the moment we met, we knew that we had something special. During our very first visit to Skaneateles together, a bird pooped on not just me, but both of us! I was later informed that this was a sign of good luck. About a year later, I find myself on a boat in the middle of the lake looking at my future husband, on one knee, asking me to marry him. Fireworks went off in the distance (really..) and let’s just say I didn’t let go of him for a solid minute.

Today, I would like to thank that little birdie for making me the luckiest girl in the world :). I can’t wait to marry my best friend and soul mate in less than a year, where it all began!”
