Today I’m thrilled to introduce you to a very dear friend and my favorite chef, Chef Blake. She attended the prestigious French Culinary Institute in New York and spent many years cooking in some of the best fine dining restaurants in the city. Her training, refined palette and classic French technique have led her to build a successful private chef business cooking for some of the most elite clients.
Here is one of Chef Blake‘s favorite Springtime libation, perfect to get your weekend started.
You Will Need
Juice from 1 grapefruit
4 ounces vodka
2 teaspoons honey simple syrup
Mix It Up
To make simple syrup combine 1/4 cup honey and water over medium heat until honey is completely dissolved. Allow to cool.
Squeeze grapefruit through a strainer. Using a zester and a small amount of fresh ginger. Add 2 tablespoons of simple syrup and 4 ounces vodka. Pour over ice, shake or stir. Take a lime wedge and rub it around rim of cocktail glass. Pour sugar onto a plate and dip the glass to make a sugar rim.
Pour drink into rimmed cocktail glass. Garnish with fresh grapefruit.
