Vintage Whimsy on the Beach by Catherine Ann Photography

As a long time admirer of vintage decor coming across “BHLDN” wedding was a treat. The vintage-inspired and chic decor, the whimsical accessories and the flirty and feminine dresses inspired this lovely bride to create a fabulous wedding. From the bride, Caitlin: We decided right off the bat to have a destination wedding. Ocean Isle was my childhood vacation spot growing up, so it had a lot of personal connections and memories. I was able to introduce it to Dan one summer while we were dating, and he instantly fell in love! Ocean Isle is a small & private coastal beach town in North Carolina, so we knew it would be the perfect place for our intimate beach wedding! Since we live in Texas, away from our family, we wanted everyone to make a vacation out of it & spend the week there. It worked out perfectly!

When starting to plan our wedding, I knew I didn’t want the typical beach decor, but a gold & blush vintage theme. Fortunately living in Houston, we have a BHLDN where I bought a majority of my decor and dress. My photographer posted an inspirational wedding photo to her Facebook page using decorative teacups, so I stole her idea, and it made for the perfect centerpiece! Planning from a distance was challenging. I researched all the vendors in the area & chose solely on reviews and recommendations. We wanted our wedding to be intimate with many personal touches & to look back at our wedding photos; we succeeded! We were so lucky to find a wedding photographer who captured our day in such a special way.
