50’s Inspiration Wedding by Angela Howard Photography
I’m convinced that the 1950’s style is seriously becoming one of my very favorite wedding styles. From the hair up do to the tea length dress this stunning bride has embodied the essense, elegance and grace of the era.Did you do a First Look before the ceremony? In a perfect world, I would have liked Lance to not see me until I walked down the aisle but we needed to do pictures before the ceremony so we decided the next best thing was a first look. Looking back I really liked the first look because it have Lance and I a few minutes with just us to soak it in before we had to be on a schedule.
Tell me about your inspiration for color and design: I was always nervous about using a bold color at my wedding because I was afraid I would hate it in the years to come so I wanted to keep it simple and clean with lots of neutrals, but then I used Navy blue so I had the little splash of color. I picked navy because I feel as though it’s a color that never goes out of style and it’s always a classic.
What were some personal details you incorporated? Lance LOVES ice cream!! He eats it almost everyday. So we made sure to have an ice cream bar for everyone to enjoy!
What was the best piece of wedding advice you got? Never stop dating. Just because were are married now doesn’t mean we should stop dating each other.
What piece of wedding planning advice do you wish you followed? I wish I would have tried harder to enjoy the planning instead of stressing about it.
Anything you wish you hadn’t worried about? Trying to please everyone.
Anything you wish you had known about sooner rather than later? I wish I would have planned out my morning better so I could have had a little time to just be with my bridesmaids right before the ceremony.
What is your very best advice to other brides? Don’t stress. No matter what happens their day will be perfect because it’s their day.
