Cape Cod Beach Wedding – Kelly Cronin Photography
Cape Cod holds a special place for me. I visit there as often as I can, and when I get back to the hustle and bustle of New York I feel recharged and ready to to take on the world. So, I totally get it when this bride who grew up vacationing at the Cape, wanted to get married there. Our wedding color palette was Navy Blue, Blush, and Gold. Our style (or shall I say mostly mine) was to be classic, yet, relaxed and whimsical. I was inspired by the nautical environment of the Cape as well as my favorite colors (I was certainly lucky that Kerim didn’t have much care for what I chose here).
I chose white hydrangea and blush/light pink roses which filled my bouquet as well as the center pieces. The bridesmaids had small bouquets of white hydrangeas while Kerim had a petite white rose and baby’s breath as his corsage.
I hand made the stationary with navy blue envelopes, fitted with gold dotted liners and used a light pink return envelope. I handmade the invites/R.S.V.P and hand-drew a map of the wedding site.
I was lucky that the decor of the beach house at CBI was already to use. We used classic ivory linens and house flatware/dishes. The house glasses were a seaside blue/green. There were small center pieces of the flowers mentioned, and we used small flower arrangements of hydrangeas that lined the walkway as filler’s on extra tables.
Kerim and I chose a classic feel to our wedding. He wanted tuxedos for all the men while one of his groomsmen wore his military dress. I was looking for a classic, yet, relaxed feel wanting to a full skirt – but not ball gown. I was lucky to find my dress while vacationing in Istanbul, Turkey (where Kerim’s family is from) at Oleg Cassini. My dress was a V-neck with lace/sequin top with a tulle A-line skirt. My bridesmaid’s wore classic A-line knee-length dresses from J.Crew with a similar silhouette top as mine.
