Today calls for a major dose of modern glam. Justin and Olivia’s wedding at the chic industrial Tendenza in the Northern Liberties Section of Philly fits that bill. From the bridesmaid dresses reminiscent of a flapper flare style to the super stylish bride in her stunning gown and her handsome groom in black tie so perfectly captured by Tyler Boye, this is the epitome of glam Gatsby style. They chose simple yet glamorous details that complimented their venue perfectly allowing their personalities to shine right through. Well done!
Olivia shared their love story: Our love story isn’t filled with whimsical descriptions that parrot the early chapters of a supermarket romance novel. Honestly, our story is relatively uneventful but nonetheless unmistakably ours. We met where most post-college graduates meet new people, at work. We both began our careers at ING DIRECT (now Capital One 360) in Wilmington, DE. It was both our first “real” jobs; filled with new experiences and new people. The company was a popular destination for young, eager, 20-somthings, ready to play grown-up for the first time. Hard work and happy hour were the unspoken mantras of our department. It was inevitable that new friends would be made, and relationships forged. The foundation that allowed for our meeting for the first time. Justin was immediately interested in me but was too nervous to make any advances. However, one day a mutual friend and co-worker invited us both to an after work happy hour in Trolley Square. With the buffer of a mutual friend, we were able to pierce the work-relationship veil and become more than friends. That evening at Scratch McGoo’s and Kid Shelleen’s sparked the connection that led to wanting to spend more time with one another and eventually the rest of our lives. Inspiration/Theme for Wedding Day: Justin and I both agreed that we wanted our wedding style to resemble a modern, stylish, and elegant event that let both of our personalities shine through. We wanted modern, glam, chic with hints of tradition that is exactly why we selected Tendenza as our venue. Tendenza is very modern, industrial chic with reminiscent of New York City lofts, my favorite city. The space offered juxtaposed design of glass, stainless steel, exposed brick walls, beamed ceilings, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, brushed aluminum, and stunning crystal chandeliers. We did not commit to a particular color for our wedding, so it was the perfect spot to incorporate metallic, blushes, and neutrals for our black-tie affair. Absolutely everything about our wedding was specifically “us” as a couple, and it was the best day of our lives.
