Modern Glamour Wedding by Pepper Nix Photography
You are going to fall in love with this elegant destination wedding photographed by Pepper Nix Photography. It radiates modern glamour from the Vera Wang dress to the bird of paradise bouquet. It’s a sophisticated wedding like you’ve never seen. See it here. Describe your bridal attire? The dress I wore was the first dress I loved from a magazine picture. I tried it on while visiting my sister in Boston – I placed my order the same day. It was simple and elegant, yet modern and unique. I wanted to be comfortable and feel like myself.
The diamond in my engagement ring was a heirloom originally given to Ryan’s great-grandmother in 1924 by his great-grandfather on their wedding engagement day. She passed it down to Ryan’s grandmother, then she to Ryan’s mother who passed it to him.
Did you do a First Look before the ceremony? We chose to go one step beyond a “First Look” and do all of our formal photos prior to the ceremony. Originally, we planned this because we didn’t want to miss any time with our friends and family who had all traveled to Park City to celebrate with us. What we discovered was that it gave us some time to share a few quiet moments before the ceremony together – very calming.
Describe your wedding flowers: Amazing! I was dead set on carrying a bouquet made solely of birds of paradise – it was heavy! After months of looking for something like I envisioned, my mom found a photo that we used to explain to Kellie (Jackstein) the type of modern, edgy bouquet I was picturing. Needless to say, there was not a bouquet toss for fear someone might lose an eye. The rest of the flowers were a mixture of softer textural white flowers and bright accents of various orange flowers.
Talk to me about the decor! Formal (black-tie) yet modern – not stuffy! We tried to incorporate things that we enjoy into the overall wedding atmosphere – live music, wine, the outdoors and lots of fun!
Old, new, borrowed, blue – Did you follow that tradition and if so, what did you use? Aquamarine Earrings given to my older sister, Kelly, on her wedding day by our grandmother. Our younger sister, Lindsay, also wore them on her wedding day. They were “old, borrowed & blue!” The diamond in my engagement ring was a heirloom originally given to Ryan’s great-grandmother in 1924 by his great-grandfather on their wedding engagement day. She passed it down to Ryan’s grandmother, then she to Ryan’s mother who passed it to him.
