This is a very traditional Real Westchester Wedding at the New York Athletic Club was submitted to us by the bride. According to her, the TWWP blog was “instrumental in the preparation” of her beautiful wedding day. We’re thrilled that we could be of assistance. Congratulations to the happy couple!
What do you wish you had known before beginning to plan your wedding? That it all goes by so incredibly fast- the planning, all of the events leading up to the wedding and, of course, the big day. Even though I made sure to give myself plenty of time to get ready the day of the wedding, it still felt as if there wasn’t enough time! Also, everything I stressed over during the planning process from invitations to seating arrangements didn’t seem to matter that day. Details are important, but in the end, what really matters is your love for one another, the bond you create that day as husband and wife and the overall experience you share together with all of your loved ones. It’s so important to take the time to enjoy every minute and be present in every moment because before you know it, it’s all over in the blink of an eye.

How did you find your vendors? We chose our vendors based on recommendations from family and friends. It was also essential that we felt very comfortable with every vendor we selected. Their work is tremendously important but so are their personalities so it was important that both shined through.

Do you have any words of wisdom for other brides who are now planning their weddings? Trust your gut and your instincts. If you have a specific vision, see it through and don’t be afraid to do something different. Everyone thought I was crazy when I told them I wanted to go outside of the “norm” when it came to selecting bridesmaids dresses. I didn’t want them to wear a typical bridesmaid dress and have that uniform matchy-matchy look. So each girl chose a different, beautiful dress and while remaining cohesive, they were able to sparkle and shine in their own unique way. After the wedding so many commented on how gorgeous the girls looked and what a great idea it was to have them wear different dresses!
