Rustic Nautical New Jersey Summer Wedding
When someone asks me how or where to find inspiration whether for a wedding or any other event – my response very often is the same. Start by thinking of something you love. It doesn’t much matter if that something is related to your particular event or not – a color, a flower, a painting, etc. Inspiration often comes from the most random of places. For Karen, the inspiration for her wedding decor came from the slate blue suit she picked out for her groom.
What was your inspiration? I didn’t really have wedding inspiration or a particular style. However, once I found the slate blue tuxedos and everything else fell into place. I knew I wanted casual flowers and a casual wedding dresses. And, the venue had to be something different that didn’t look like the typical ballroom.
What are your favorite moments of the day? Oh the whole day! Seeing Todd for the first time, walking down the aisle with my dad, our first kiss and walking down the aisle with my husband. Of course, cocktail hour, dancing the night away and sharing the day with our families and friends!
Do You have any words of wisdom for brides-to-be? Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want. I think I was too laid back and therefore I have regrets about planning. It’s your day, rock it and make sure you get all those details you want. You only do it once!
