Seventies Style Hippie Wedding by Imagen Photos
Take note ladies: don’t be afraid of the non-traditional wedding dress. This brides is absolutely stunning is this dress from Amanda Wakeley. Talk about a hippie look done perfectly and complete with a delicate boho headpiece from Rosie Weisencrantz.
A Note from the Bride: Living in San Diego and planning a wedding in Ohio, Cory, and I didn’t particularly have a vision for the day but. We knew we wanted to celebrate with our friends and family who had supported us for nearly twelve years. After our wedding, several friends commented that it was fun “to go to a seventies style hippie wedding,” so I suppose in the end that might describe our day! After meeting at Pepperdine University and dating for three years, Cory and I separated when I joined the Peace Corps. After a brief reunion, I moved to San Francisco to pursue a medical degree while Cory opened his own business in San Diego. Finally, after reuniting in San Diego in 2011, we were engaged about a year later on the beach in Malibu, the same spot Cory had asked me to marry him in 2005!
We love nature and adventure so getting married in Cuyahoga Valley National Park was an easy decision. The Conrad Botzum Farm and dairy barn, built in 1898, was the perfect setting for our beautiful fall wedding. The weather was perfect until we started our vows! A torrential downpour forced a “rain delay”. We said our vows-mine sweet and loving, Cory’s a rap that he wrote and sang, in the barn with our friends and family gathered around. It was perfect!
