Surprise Holiday Proposal
So many couples get engaged during the most wonderful time of the year. This proposal, captured by Erin Morrison Photography, is a dream. Matt and Emily were engaged in Westwood, a historic home in Tennessee built as a “wedding promise” by John Edwin Luts for his wife, Ann Adelia Armstrong. What a perfect place for a proposal! From the photographer: Matt and Emily met at The University of Tennessee. Their friendship soon turned into a relationship after their first date at Cafe 4 in downtown Knoxville – that was over 4 years ago. Over the years as students, Emily and Matt drove by Historic Westwood, a house built as a wedding promise, nearly every day on their way to campus. Emily has always had an interest in the home, so Matt was going to surprise Emily on a really neat December date. Emily pretty much knew what was going to happen when she entered the final room on the tour: the art studio. Me, myself, and my camera were patiently waiting for their arrival and the opportunity to capture a really special moment. Matt read a couple of words to his soon-to-be fiancé, and got down on one knee for the proposal. She, or course, said yes! The couple ended their night at Knox Mason, where family and friends were waiting their arrival!
