Whimsical Wedding
We love fun and whimsical weddings, so when we saw confetti and the bride dancing in a circle of adorable children, we knew this colorful wedding was a winner. From the Bride: How did you meet? Matthew and I met at work, in the criminal justice field in 2005. We were both very shy and quiet, and it took a long time for both of us to get the courage to make the first move. We finally had our first date seven years later at Red Lobster and have been inseparable ever since.
How did you plan your wedding? Charleston is a big part of Matthew, being a Citadel graduate, and from the first time Matthew showed me around the Citadel, I knew the Summerall Chapel was the perfect place for us to join our lives together. I decided early on I wanted to make our big day intimate and from the heart, so I decided to do mostly everything myself. I got to spend more time with my parents as they helped a lot with craft time. Having them involved was a fun experience.
Memorable moments? My most memorable moments, aside from marrying my best friend, were the moments after our wedding that I got to spend with Matthew and Macon, just us three; most specific, the fun we had playing with our extra confetti. Matthew’s most memorable moment was seeing his son, Macon, holding a sign that said, “Daddy, here comes our girl” right before I came down the aisle.
