Winter Wedding Bliss by Pepper Nix Photography

Today we bring you a snowy day wedding that is classic and gorgeous. These two lovebirds celebrated their “I dos” amongst the snow capped trees and a blizzard.  Winter weddings are great and this beautiful wedding photographed by Pepper Nix is elegant and so heartwarming. The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter WeddingMoments you loved, hated, cried, laughed or giggled at: This one will have to take some time. I cried hardest during our vows because it was just so surreal that after all the time we’d been together we were finally making these promises to each other that were so important and life changing. I tried very hard to focus on what the pastor was saying to us because he is so full of wisdom and good advice and it was so real to me that these aren’t just guidelines to follow- the were important vows before everyone and everything we loved at that moment. Kind of cheesy but it was very momentous for me. My dad’s toast made me laugh because he totally called me out for being a control freak and that I need to let Justin take the lead sometimes. I loved every single thing about it and couldn’t think of one thing I hated if I tried. Oh! The sleigh ride was absolutely amazing! That was a huge hit with our friends and family and such a surprise to me. I thought we were going on this little slow demure sleigh ride and then all of a sudden they whipped us around so fast we almost fell out. It was hilarious and so fun we had them do it again. I’m very close to the kiddos in our wedding and the girls made a book for us and read it at the reception. Loved that! We loved that it was a blizzard on our wedding day. A true freezing blizzard. It was so beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Also, right as we were saying our vows it was snowing and the sleigh just happened to pull around the slope in the background and that was really neat to see. It was straight out of a movie. Also I loved all the candles and fire places. It was very cozy. I’m a huge fan of winter if you can’t tell. The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4508 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4515 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4514 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4516 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4518 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4521Did you do a First Look before the ceremony? We did a first look. We went back and forth on this topic for months and even up to a few days before the ceremony. Justin was pretty dead set on not seeing me before hand but I thought it would take some pressure off. Ultimately we went with it and are so happy we did. It gave us a bit to have some time to ourselves and it was nice just to be in the moment. I love looking at the pictures we have now of that time because they were so real and not forced. Plus, we didn’t want to take up time with our friends and family taking pics post ceremony. The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4525 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4526 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4527 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4531 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4535Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, did you follow that tradition and if so, what did you use? I did- I had a few something olds: Justin gave me his grandmother’s pearls (I was very close to her too so it was very special) and they were wrapped around the stem of my bouquet. I also had my grandmother’s star sapphire ring which also served as something borrowed, blue and old. My dress had blue crystals on them and my earrings were new.The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4536 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4538 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4541 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4545 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4546 The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4549The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4554The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4556The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4560The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4558The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4562The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4565The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4575The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4566The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4569The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4570The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4572The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4578The Westchester Wedding Planner, Winter Wedding_4579Cake: this was a bit unique- my husband and I aren’t huge sweet eaters but we LOVE cheese. So, we had a cake made of tiers of cheeses and we also had fresh flowers and fruits gathered around it. One of my favorite parts of the wedding!

What you would have done differently, if anything: Honestly nothing I can think of at this time. Any advice you have for future brides? It was very important to us to feel like guests at our wedding. No meeting and greeting- we wanted to eat the food we chose, dance to our band and just have fun with friends and fam. And that’s exactly what we did. Also, it goes so quickly so try to take a minute and really look at the room and flowers and the people that you love. It’s such an awesome feeling to know all those people are there because they love and support you. That’s probably the only time you’ll have them all in one room and its special.
