Shades of Purple Wedding by Logan Walker Photography
I have a soft spot in my heart for mountain weddings, and this beauty is definitely one to love. I’m so in love with all the bling, the drop dead gorgeous bride in her stunning dress, all the pretty shades of purple, and all the fun everyone is having on the mountain. Sit back and enjoy every detail and every moment so beautifully captured by the lovely Logan Walker. Where did you get the inspiration for your color palette and design? – PURPLE, SILVER, BLACK. Purple is my favorite color, always has been, after all, it’s the color of royalty! I wanted something simple and chic, elegant but not overplayed. A little eccentric but sophisticated. For example, my dress had unfinished hemlines but the sparkle of the belt gave it the WOW factor. I wanted the whole wedding to be that way.
Describe your bridal attire? The Modern Trousseau Mika gown was the second dress I tried on and loved it, but I wanted to try on a range of gowns, so I had something to compare it to. I tried on half a dozen dresses and went to a bridal show the following week where I tried on 20 more dresses. Every one I tried on I kept comparing back to Mika gown at Alta Moda. So, I went back, and I tried it on again. Without a doubt, this was my dress. The fitted body, the movement of the ruffles, the train, the buttons down the back and the sweetheart neckline and that belt!
The gown has unfinished edges, which I loved. It was a little unrefined with touches of elegance and sophistication. The dress moves like a dream, the bottom sways and rustles with every step, it’s JUST stunning.
My shoes had to match the belt, and the perfect pair I found were not too tall and affordable! I splurged on the dress (and the belt! Oh MY!) so I kept my jewelry minimal. I think I got my earrings at Express. As part of my something old and something borrowed I wore my grandmother’s class ring and a beautiful Tiffany bracelet that belongs to Sam’s mom.
Bridesmaids dresses: Each of my lovely ladies picked her own dress. I told them the color, and they chose their own. I wanted them all to be different. And it turned out perfectly; each dress reflected their personalities.
Describe your wedding flowers: Purple. LOL… Flowers were not a huge focus for me. I wanted something nice and elegant but a little edgy (I asked Shelly to add black flowers to my bouquet). I loved Shelly’s website, and when we met, I knew that I could trust her. I told her what I liked, that I didn’t want uniformity, and then I gave her the reigns and let her design what she thought would work. The result was spectacular, and I was thrilled with the outcome. The men’s boutonnieres and the low-profile centerpieces were especially neat with the silver features.
